Florida CCW holder shoots suspect beating Sheriff’s Deputy

lee-county-i75-2Breaking news out of Florida:

A Licensed Concealed Carrier in Florida shot and killed a man beating a Lee County Sheriff’s Deputy today.

After a high speed pursuit that reportedly topped 120mph the suspect was finally stopped on a ramp off of I-75 near Estero, FL.

Witnesses report that the Deputy and suspect exited their vehicles nearly simultaneously and the suspect immediately charged the deputy “violently throwing him on the ground and proceeded to beat him”.  Other witnesses confirm the suspect had mounted the deputy and was “beating the officer to death”.

The CCW holder was driving past when he saw the suspect beating the deputy and exited his car and proceeded to order the suspect to stop.  When the suspect continued beating the deputy the law abiding Citizen fired 3 rounds.  The suspect would be pronounced dead at the scene.

The deputy has already been released from the hospital and expected to make a full recovery.

***News outlets are reporting they are looking “into the legality of the CCW holders actions”.  As a former Florida resident I can tell you with the information currently being reported that this CCW holder acted fully within the law by using deadly force to stop this heinous attack.

The 9mm Hornet is an “over the barrel” silencer allowing for a shorter over all length on your rifle by placing a portion of the silencer back over your barrel which means the Hornet only adds about 4″ to the Over All Length of your rifle or carbine even though it’s total OAL is 7.7″.  It has a single piece machined baffle and fits under many existing handguards.

Indiana Right to Hunt Amendment on the ballot this November, 2016

indiana_state_capitol_buildingThis November Hoosiers will have a chance to vote on Public Question 1, an Amendment to State Constitution protecting the Right to hunt, fish and harvest wildlife.

When this passes Indiana would join 19 other States who have taken steps to try and ensure un-elected bureaucrats can no longer unilaterally pass new regulations without first putting the issues before the elected representatives of the People.

The opposition to this amendment is truly pulling out all the stops to try and defeat it.  Making absurd assertions like the bill could be bad for private property owners, nothing could be further from the truth.

As a private property owner myself, I see nothing that would even remotely affect my property Rights or existing trespass laws.  In fact, read for yourself:

“This section shall not be construed to modify any provision of law relating to trespass or property rights.”

Other absurdities make a leap that because the NRA-ILA is supporting this amendment that some how means they “want more gun sales”.  Anyone paying attention right now knows that gun sales are at an all time high and have been for multiple years now.  This is simply false and a distraction from the real issues.

Keep in mind even the NRA can’t get a vote of 95-1  in the House of Representatives to happen by itself.  The Citizens of the State of Indiana did that.

One other distraction is that this would some how affect animals on the endangered species list.  That is completely and patently false.

While I do practice predator control for coyotes, hunting has never really been “my thing”.  In fact I haven’t hunted or fished for anything anything in years.  Not that I’m opposed to it, I just haven’t had the time to dedicate to it.  For those who aren’t familiar with hunting, it isn’t as straight forward as some would make it seem.

That said, people have Rights and even if it’s not a Right I’m currently exercising, I’ll fight to defend it.

Please vote YES on the Amendment to protect the Rights of your fellow Hoosiers this November.

F90 Atrax from Lithgow Arms at the Big 3 East – B3E

joe-firingA look at the new F90 Atrax Bullpup from Lithgow Arms during the Fall 2016 Big 3 East event in Daytona, FLA.

These two models were Select fire, aka Full-Auto, the civilian models will be semi-automatic only.

Lithgow is hoping for an estimated shipping date for the Atrax around SHOT show 2017 (mid January).  13C will be doing a full review on this  rifle when it launches, be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel and Facebook Page to stay up to date on this project.

maa rtd sideMid America Armament has a new Rapid Take Down Kit out featuring a free float rail with a quick release lever and matching barrel nut to replace your existing barrel nut.

The system allows you to go from a rifle broken down into several smaller components to a fully assembled ready to shoot rifle in under 30 seconds.

Caliber changes, from 5.56 to .300 blackout for example, can be accomplished in under a minute if you pick up an extra barrel nut.

In our preliminary testing it would appear that point of impact shifts are about 1.5″ or less at around 100 yards.

Griffin Armament Recce 7 – day and night
