Bushnell ADVANCE Micro Reflex Sight

Up next in our pistol mounted red dot series is the Advance from Bushnell.

The Advance comes in on the lower end of our price scale but still maintains some of the higher end features like having an IPX7 water submersion rating as well as being listed “shock proof”.

We received the Advance from Bushnell about 2 months ago and started our work with it on a Ruger Mk4. Over the next 6 weeks we would use it on a variety of firearms from a Glock 34 to a custom Quarter Circle 10 build.

During the course of our time we didn’t experience any issues with the Advance as far as it’s operation. The glass has a minimal coating on it which made it extremely pleasant to shoot in most lighting conditions, the down side to this style of coating is that it isn’t well suited for extreme angles of sunlight and there is noticeable flaring on the lens in the late afternoon and at sunset. This is the nature of the beast unfortunately and optics with the heavier tinting will change the color profile of your target some but will help to cut down on that glare and lens flare.

Over all we settled on having the Advance live on our current suppressor host, a Ruger Mk4. It’s a solid dot for it’s price point and includes some features that optics in a similar price range don’t offer.
