As previously reported here on 13C less than 50,000 assault weapons were registered in Connecticut prior to the December 31st deadline.
Initial media spin reports blamed it on everything from post offices closing early to people not being made aware of the new law.
Estimates place as many as 350,000 assault weapons in CT prior to January 1 2014.
State Sen. Tony Guglielmo says residents think that their rights are being violated, and they refuse to abide by the law. He also says he has “never seen a law willfully disobeyed like this”.
FoxNews talking head Trace Gallagher ended their segment on this civil disobedience by saying: “This is astonishing considering this is Connecticut not exactly Texas.”
Please share stories like these with your fellow gun owners, especially those in CT right now. Sticking to your guns and ignoring a blatantly unconstitutional law, knowing it will make you a felon, isn’t something to scoff at.
I hope the good people of Connecticut know the rest of the nation stand behind them opposing this tyrannical new law.
